Elizabeth Gilbey is an artist living and working in Galloway, South West Scotland
She trained in classical painting and drawing techniques, taught in the traditional atelier method, at the London Fine Art Studios. Her teachers included renowned masters such as Ann Witheridge, Scott Pohlschmidt and Nick Bashall.
She works mainly in oils, but also watercolours, pastels and pen and ink. Her subjects include still life, landscape, animals and people.

Elizabeth lives in beautiful Galloway, South West Scotland, with her husband, two sons, two spaniels and horse. She takes her inspiration from the fabulous scenery and wildlife in the area.
Elizabeth is in the process of renovating a stunning Victorian stable block to create a state-of-the-art, purpose-built studio, to provide courses on landscape, still life and figure drawing and painting, set within the stunning scenery of Galloway, South West Scotland.
Courses will be both residential and non-residential and will be tutored both by Elizabeth and also by well known guest artists.
